The The original 1926 to 1933 alignment of Route 66 ran along the railroad
tracks on the east end of Seligman. This photo is looking east from the
intersection of Railroad Avenue and Lamport Street. I suggest turning
around here and backtracking to the Copper Cart building at Main Street
and Historic Route 66.
If you want to drive the east part of the gravel Railroad Avenue from
here it goes east about 6/10 of a mile to Crookton Rd where you can
make a short jog north to rejoin the paved Route 66 the turn west and
head back through town. I'm not sure how driveable it is though.

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
