The Hualapai Lodge is located right on old Route 66 in Peach Springs. It features a motel, restaurant and gift shop. This is where you get a permit to drive Diamond Creek Road (Indian Rd 6) down to the Colorado River beach where the river rafting tours begin. Hualapai means "People of the Tall Pines", it's a kind of cool name.

The Lodge is on the site of the long gone Ostermans Auto Court which was built in 1936 and sold to Frank and Beatrice Boyd in 1938 after which it became the Peach Springs Auto Court.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
