The Casa Linda Cafe opened in this building in 1933 and closed 1964 after a 41 year run. A door on the front between the windows has been filled in. A full width canopy on the front of the building has been eliminated. Several windows on the side of the building have been filled in .

The Casa Linda Cafe name was emblazoned above the windows in large block letters running the full length of the side of the building. There was also a pole mounted neon sign in front of the building.

The name was chosen in contest among customers. Cafe owner Clara Boyd, a former Harvey Girl, gave W. "Tuffy" Spaw a coffee maker for his winning suggestion. In 2015 the sign on the side of the building said Carlton Surveying.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
