The mid-60s Plainsman Restaurant sign recalls an unfortunate period in
the 1880's when cowboys from the Aztec Land and Cattle Company ran roughshod
over Holbrook. Those cowboys were also known as the "Hashknife Gang".
The restaurant closed in 2005 but was later renovated. I think it is now
closed.

View Motel.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
