Recently known as the Star Inn, the former Desert View Lodge originally had 23 units, in the late 1950's an 11 unit second floor was added.

It was the first motel in Holbrook to have a swimming pool.

An early 60's postcard shows the motel with the second floor and the pool but before the separate office and cafe (?) were added to the front of the guest room wings. A mid-60s era postcard identifies it as the Desert View Motel and shows those additions and says there were 55 units by then.
