After tourist cabins were built behind the 1896 McGonigle house about 1929 it became the B & M Auto Camp.

xAt least one source mention eight cabins, but the small building appears to have fewer units. There was a mural on the end of the cabins building when we went by in 2019.

xThe store in front of the house was added in 1926. The store building is now sheathed in corrugated metal. Robertson's Help-UR-Self Laundry operated at this address in the late 1940s. The Robertson's owned and operated the laundry busines until early 1951 when they sold the business. It's not clear, but seems logical the tha laundry business was in some part of the store building.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
