This was the Ash Fork House which was originally located near the old
depot that burned in 1905. After the depot burned this building was moved
to Lewis Avenue and became the White House Hotel. It was built by Simon
Pouquette and his daughter, Alma Pouquette took over operating the hotel
in 1939. It is appartments now.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
