This 1930s Magnolia gas station and cafe is located on the north side of Route 66 at E 1st Street and 3rd Ave., one block east of the 66 Super Service Station. It is hard to believe this once was downtown Alanreed.

x Faded lettering on the columns supporting what is left of the drive canopy tell folks there was a cafe inside.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
