Except for the signage and modern replacement windows, entry door and garage door the Randall Tire Company building has changed very little since it was built using random uncut sandstone in 1931. The original owner, Jesse Randall owned it until the end of WWII. At one time there were gas pumps out front, but they are long gone.

When the building was new gas there was 11 or 13 cents a gallon, you could get a tire for 50 cents or a flat fixed for 25 cents. Randall operated the gas station as an independant dealer, not affiliated with any particular brand of fuel or oil company.

The building was placed on the NRHP in 1995

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
