This theater opened in 1922 as the Lyric Theatre and had only one screen.
It has been renovated and now has three screens. The first floor facade
has been extensive remodeled, but the upper section appears to be close
to original. The date carved in stone near the top of the parapet behind
the sign says 1920. So I wonder which date really represents when the
theater opened.
A
simple marquee has been added with the large vertical multi-colored
neon "Center" on each side has been restored. The sign has
two stars at the bottom and four near the top.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
