Ruby Rodrigues opened the El Rancho Grande Mexican Food Restaurant in
this location in 1953 and operated it until her retirement in 1982. In
1984 John and Jeff Walden took over the restaurant and have been running
it ever since. This may be the oldest Mexican Restaurant on Route 66.
The wonderful neon sign was refurbished in 2009. It is believed that
the sign was added at a later date.
