J. W. Danner built this house around 1905 using concrete blocks that he
personally cast on site. It stands on land Danner received in the Cheyenne
and Arapaho land run of 1892. In 1901 Danner and a few other men sold
some of their land to the townsite company for the platting of the town
of Sayre. Each of those men were allowed to reserve for their own purposes
a city block of land as part of the transaction. The house was placed
on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2002.
