The Chapel was built in 1944 by German POW's. It is open to visitors with a pass from the visitor center and can also be rented for weddings. The Chapel was renovated in 1997 and a new roof and front door repairs happened in 2009.

Did You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
