Cavalry Stables

Fort Reno, OK
Phone:

East < GO > West

These stables were built in 1876. This building is known as Barn Number 3, apparently the only one still standing. This building is 200 feet long and has 30+ stalls. A room in the corner was for the living quarters of the Stable Sergeant. Other corner rooms were used for storage of tack. The U.S. Cavalry Association completed restoration of this stable in 2017.

This is the classic example of "the photo says it all". :)

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
