The Ranger Motel is located at 1201 SE 27th Street. The Googie style sign is probably from the very late 1950s or early 60s. Mr. & Mrs. D. D. Walker had built and opened the motel in the spring of 1954, they sold it in early 1957.

This is at least the third sign for this motel, it was restored with new neon and relit in January of 2008. It appears to have lost some of its luster and neon tubing over the years since then, as seen in this 2012 photo.

A postcard with what looks like a 1957 DeSoto shows an earlier sign.
