Welcome to Davenport Sign

7th & Broadway, Davenport, OK
Phone:

East < GO > West

This two sided sign was created by Bob Palmer Studios and painted by one of his students. One side shows the historic railroad bridge just west of town and the former 1933 Texaco gas station next door.

The other side shows the Magnolia station about a block north of the sign. Also located by the sign are two four-globe light posts from early days in Davenport and an old original concrete street sign post that says 7th & Broadway in weathered but still visible lettering.

xThe image of the Magolia Station shows the station itself as well as three "visible" style gas pumps and the Magnolia Gasoline sign.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
