Dairy King Drive In
100 Main St., Commerce, OK
Phone:
This former Marathon Cottage style service station now houses a Dairy
King owned by Charles Duboise and his mother. They have talked about putting
old gas pumps outside so it will look more like it did. It is located
on the 1926-1952 alignment of old 66 at Commerce & Main (100 Main
Street.)
They also make Route 66 cookies. They are shaped like a shield and
have "US 66" on them and are made in both plain sugar and
chocolate chip.
We've seen at least three different years shown for this station, 1925,
1927 or 1931 but the Oklahoma Route 66 Historic Resources Survey shows
it as being constructed in 1927.
