Dairy Best / El Poko Loko Mexican Cafe

Gus Jaworsky opened the Dairy Best Drive In in the early summer of 1960
with a "Grand Opening" in mid-July. Broasted Fried Chicken arrived
in October and was stilleing featured on the sign out front when the place
closed about 2015. The chicken was mentioned twice on the sign so I'm
guessing it was a main item on the menu. Hamburgers and home made pies
were also featured on the menu along with the usual Dairy things like
malts and shakes, etc. After the Dairy Best closed it became the the El
Loko Poko Mexican Cafe.
Probably the coolest thing about the sign is the star on the upper corner
which looks like it takes about 45 incandescent bulbs on each side.
The upper sign can is missing now, but the star is still hanging in
there. El Loko Poko used the lower sign can.
