This is a great looking sign that is so typical of the style of motel signs along the old Mother Road. The neon needed some work when we snapped this photo in 2012. It'd be nice to see the sign lit up again.

The motel has been closed since 1992. Part of the motel was built in the 1960s when 7 units were moved from their original spot at Foss. It is located at Route 66 & First. The motel is named after the county that Canute is in, Washita.
