Route 66, Bridgeport

East < GO > West

What's left of this building is located just west of the road north to Bridgeport (County Street 2585). In his 1946 "A Guide Book to Highway 66" Jack Rittenhouse mentions several gas stations as well as three Tourist courts at this intersection, The Harvey House Courts, Yount's and Guy's. Just judging by the ghost writing on the walls I'm guessing this is one of them, but not the Harvey Courts, that was on the east side of the Bridgeport Road.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
