The "Old Route 66 Truck & Auto Service" is one of the few abandoned businesses on Main Avenue in San Jon that has any kind of identifying signage left. Main Avenue through town was Route 66 from 1926 to 1982, that represents 56 years of opportunity and hard work that went out the window the day that I-40 opened and claimed the Route 66 name a few blocks to the north.
