The closed Roaring 20s SpeakEasy was located on W. Santa Fe Ave. and 3rd Street. The Speakeasy building and what looks like a motel in the background sre gone now, in fact as of 2015 all that was left here was the sign standing on the edge of old Route 66.

x Each of the letters in Roaring 20's was lit with a row of incandescent bulbs. Yellow bulbs outlined the sign. I wonder how many light bulbs were used on this sign, and how often they needed to be replaced. The sign originally came from the closed Roarin' 20's in Albuquerque. The panel with the word "The" on it used to say "Eddie's". It was Eddie McBride who brought the sign from Albuquerque and installed here in front of what was then his parents business.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
