Like so many others along Route 66, the Los Alamitos Motel is long gone.
The remnants of it's neon sign were still there on Santa Fe Avenue until
the fall of 2019 when even that disappeared leaving just a couple of short
support posts sticking out of the ground. The concrete slab from the motel
was still there too, but harder to spot without the sign in place. The
site is near the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Acoma Street.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
