White Cafe Building100 W. Route 66, Gallup, NMPhone:
The building was built about 1928 in the Commercial Brick style using blond brick accented with red tiled brick. The two story building next door was the Plaza Hotel "Next door to the White Cafe" according to an ad in the 1934 Gallup Independent Newspaper. The NRHP Gallup Historic District lists it as the Southern Hotel "Adjacent to the White Cafe" but only lists a "early 20th century building", which hotel came first is open to question. The first floor is faced with maroon glazed tiles. Photo(s): 2015
