It is interesting to see these "end" signs on Route 66, this
one at the Continental Divide. Ignore this one and drive a bit down the
road to see the old Whiting Brothers Gas Station and Motel site, then
turn around and come back to the I-40 ramp.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
