Tewa Lodge
5715 E. Central
Phone:
The Tewa Lodge originally opened in 1946 with 24 units. In 1959 you could
stay here for a night for as little as $6.00, big spenders could pop for
the bigger room for as much as $10.00. Two of the units even had kitchenettes,
but those cost another $1.00 extra! The sign is not the original. After
being closed for about a year the motel reopened in late 2025 as an addiction
and homelessness recovery center.
The motel was placed on National Register of Historic Places in 1998

Note: OK, looking at the ad in the AAA Tour Book I guess only
some rooms had a TV set, the rest apparently had to settle for just
a radio. Seems odd for "One of New Mexico's Outstanding Motor Courts".
But then the postcard lists neither radios or TVs.
