The Luna Lodge in Albuquerque was built in 1949 by John Jelso in 1949 with eight rooms. The room count was expanded to 26/8 or so by 1952. A swimming pool was added in 1954. It appears to be mostly monthly rentals now. The motel also featured a cafe with a coffee shop and dining room.

After standing empty for several years the motel underwnt an award winning rehabilitation and conversion to 14 low income accesable apartments. rehabiltation in 2012 and 2013. In addion, as part of the project a new 16 unit building was constructed behind the original motel.

The Luna Lodge was placed on National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
