The original 1829 Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church was destroyed by a flood in 1903 and this church had their first Mass in the unfinished church in 1911, the finished building was consecrated in 2013.

The church has a granite foundation and stuccoed sandstone exterior walls with a blue roof and spires. The original floor in the Nave of the new building used pine made of boards supported by large beams that are thought to be from the original church. The south tower holds a pair of bells that were cast in New York in 1892. In 1956 the church had an extensive renovation.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
