This 1920s Magnolia Service Station was #299 for the company. In 1933
it was advertised as Tom Burnhams Magnolia Station selling Firestone tires
and batteries. The service bays were added in the 1940s. In 1953 it was
M&M Magnolia Serice. In 1955 it was Abie's Magnolia Station. By 1958
it had become home to Big-5-Motors, an auto repair and engine rebuilding
shop.
The
building features California Mission styling with red brick, a curvilinear
parapet and clay tile on the awning.
The
murals on thenow enclosed drive are a relatively recent addition.
