This 1920s Magnolia Service Station was #299 for the company. In 1933 it was advertised as Tom Burnhams Magnolia Station selling Firestone tires and batteries. The service bays were added in the 1940s. In 1953 it was M&M Magnolia Serice. In 1955 it was Abie's Magnolia Station. By 1958 it had become home to Big-5-Motors, an auto repair and engine rebuilding shop.

xThe building features California Mission styling with red brick, a curvilinear parapet and clay tile on the awning.

xThe murals on thenow enclosed drive are a relatively recent addition.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
