The LaCasa Grande Motel was built in 1940 as LaCasa Grande Tourist Camp
with 8 units. It now has 16 unites (now apartments) located in a "U-shaped"
layout. On the south side of Watson Road going west it is just west of
the intersection of Watson Rd (Route 66) and Laclede Station Rd. The sign
is long gone and it's easy to miss this landmark. One way entrance and
exit driveways flank the former motel office.
This example of Southwestern/Route 66 style architecture remains, at
least for now. Better stop and get your photo op while you have the
chance!

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
