The former White Sands Motel was the Route 66 Motel in 2012 when we snapped these photos. The adjacent restaurant was Dowd's Catfish Restaurant in 2012.

The Dowd's Catfish restaurant more or less sits in the corner of the motel parking lot. The two story section of the motel has been torn down.
