D. L. Morris built his garage here in 1936 on site of the old Heaton Post Office (1872-1881). It is located on the south side of Route 66 (Hwy. 96) and CR 1142.

GPS: 37.188761, -93.800033 The roof was missing when we went by in 2012, which is fairly common with old ruins like this.

This garage is pretty well hidden by the trees when approached from east or west, so it's easy to zip right past it if you aren't looking for it.

An old sign has somehow survived in place with a bit of extremely faded lettering.
