On the east side of Cuba we found the little Shelly's Route 66 Cafe and
grabbed a bite for breakfast. We've gone back for more of their good food
and good service more than once over the years. It was formerly (maybe
originally) the Cuba Dairy Creme soft-serve ice cream shop and in the
early 2000's it was Pop's (Corner) Cafe. It looks like a dining room has
been added to the east side of the building. The cafe located on Washington
St. (Route 66) at Olive, just down the road from the Wagon
Wheel Motel.

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
