Route 66 Bowl

It's been a few tough years for the bowling alley building since this 2013 photo. It has been painted white and the sign has fallen over. The former Crown Lanes building, which later became the Route 66 Bowl stands in the little business district right on the stateline between Missouri and Kansas. As the Route 66 Bowl it only lasted a few years, opening in 2013 and closing in 2017. Under the next owners the lanes were torn out to make way for a wrestling / fitness training canter. As close as I can tell, the bowling alley seems to have been here since the late 1960s or early 1970s.

It is located at 7813 W. Old 66 ,next to the old Stateline Mercantile building.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
