East < GO > West

The former Hill Tourist Court is located about 1/2 mile past the Bourbon Lodge and across the road from Bourbon High School.

It was opened by Alex & Edith Mortenson, the same couple that owned the Bourbon Lodge, sometime after they started the Burbon Lodge. It consisted of a store, a Texaco station and four cabins. Jewell & Lillian Heitman took over in 1947 and ran it until 1955. Only one cabin and the house/station and the water tower still stand.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
