The large brick building was the 1932 Bourbon Lodge Cafe . It is located
on Route 66 on the west end of town, Just east of St. Francis Catholic
Church.
This
was a tiny Phillips 66 station early on. When we went by in 2012 there
was a small Texaco sign sticking out from above the "Bourbon Lodge"
sign. Originally there was just the Lodge and three cabins. The station
and a forth cabin were added later. The cabins were west of the station.

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
