East < GO > West

This one of five historic 1923 culverts between the Rainbow Bridge and Baxter Springs that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of a 2.1 mile section of the original route 66. The other 4 culverts are farther north, much harder to spot, and much more deteriorated. This one is just a block or so south of the Field of Dreams.

GPS: 37.045980,-94.740677

The culvert is on the west side of 66 and goes under 10th St. The easiest way to spot the culvert is to look for the concrete railing on the south side of 10th.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
