This Veterans Memorial Roll of Honor Arch was constructed in 1993 to resemble the original arch that was stood on this site from 1919 to 1962. The plaque on the left carries the seals of the U. S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, and the Coast Guard. The plaque on the right read: "Dedicated to the men and women of the Williamsville area who have honorably served in the Armed Forces of the United States".

xA WWI Howitzer cannon once sat beneath the original arch but was turned in for the 1942 Scrap Drive. Currently a 155 mm Howitzer that served in Vietnam is located here. The cannon shown here is 24 feet long, weighs 12,488 pounds and can fire four rounds per minute with a maximum range of 9.07 miles (14,600 meters). It was built at the Rock Island Arsenal in 1955 at a cost of $86,869.00.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
