The new Historical Museum and Library are located on Elm Street shortly after you enter Williamsville traveling west on the 1926 -1940s alignment of Route 66.

x Route 66 Sign - Members of the Sangamon Valley Woodcarvers designed and produced the placards on the carved sign post with a Route 66 logo on top. It was dedicated in Sept 2016. There is also a live web-cam so travelers can connect with their loved ones around the country and world. So when you get here fire up your phone or computer and take a look at yourself on Route 66!

xThere is a Looking for Lincoln Sign here. These signs detail President Lincoln's connections to Williamsville. They show how hard the Williamsville Republican Club worked to secure the nomination of Abraham Lincoln at the Chicago Convention in 1860.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
