This cafe is where the 1926 alignment intersects with the 1945 alignment on the north side of town. In 1971 this was a Gulf Station, an old "GA_" sign was still visible in 2016. Turning off the current Historic U.S. 66 here puts you on the 1926 alignment that was known as City 66.
