Frank G. Campbell purchased the 66 Transit Company and renamed it after himself and used the camel because he pronounced his name "Camel". His artist created the running camel and Campbell added 66 to the hump. He called the camel Snortin' Norton and used the slogan "Humpin' to Please. There is now a Frank G. Campbell Award for Outstanding Service that is given out to people who have done outstanding work in the trucking industry.

The VW Rabbits lined up nose down in the dirt remind one the Cadillac
Ranch in Amarillo Texas.
The Campbell 66 Express Trucking Lines started in 1926 and closed in
1986. They used Snortin Norton, the Camel, as their mascot.
At Henry's Rabbit Ranch you find a collection of signs. This sign from
the Stanley Cour-Tel came from Route 66 near Lambert Int'l Airport in
the St. Louis Area.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
