The former Riddle Store became the Duda Tavern in 1931 offering tourist cabins, dancing and gambling. Later it became the Decamp Junction Bar & Pizza. There's rooftop deck overlooking the ball field behind the restaurant. There are apparently new owners as of summer 2017.

On the left side of this photo you can see the roof top deck, probably a great place to watch a game on the ball field in back of the building

According to one source the original small building here was built from a kit ordered from the Montgomery Ward catalog. A couple of additions were added later. First was a living quarters added to the back of the building and later a second floor was added to the building to accommodate guest or boarding rooms.

Decamp Junction was inducted into the Route 66 of Illinois Hall of Fame in 2001.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
