The Countryside Inn was once called the Northern Aire Motel which consisted of 16 units. Before that it was called Ranch Motel which apparently had 13 units. It is located on Peoria Road on the east side of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. As the Ranch Motel they used the slogan "Your comfort is our greatest concern" on a postcard.

xA simple backlit sign stands in front of the motel. Judging by the number of mailboxes on the front of the "guest" room building it looks like this is more of an apartment complex now.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
