East < GO > West

Richie and Mary Jerome built and opened this little 600 square foot bar in 1946 named it Richie and Mary's. The building was constructed using locally made hand cast concrete blocks. The only real update that has been done is the modern restrooms replacing the outhouses.

xThis is the first view of the building when you turn off Route 66 (S., Sherman Blvd.) onto E. Andrew Rd. You go past the old rest area and across the railroad tracks to get to the bar.

Between when the bar first opened and 2015 when we snapped these photos the bar had only had four owners, the latest being Tim Farley who had owned it for over 14 years.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
