Former Bonny's Restaurant / I.O.O.F Hall
108 Park St., McLean, IL
Phone:
This late 1800s building became the home of E. B. Bonny's Restaurant in
1910 and remained such until 1929. By 1930 Sieb's Hatchery had moved into
the commercial space and stayed there for many years. In the mid-50s large
letters above the second floor windows proclaimed "ODD FELLOWS",
apparently they had moved from a space above the drug store on the other
side of the Town Square and were occupying the second floor of this building
by then.
The second floor space is a large apartment, one of the Arcadia
Playable Arcade / Hotel Arcadia properties in McLean and is available
on AirBnB.
There's
quite a bit of ghost signs on the north side of the building.
Here's
a closer look at the E. B. Bonny and other signage.
I
haven't figured out what merchant the "Dry Goods" signage
was for.
