Logan County Courthouse601 Broadway St. Lincoln, IL 62656Phone:
The stately Logan County Courthouse sits on a block that also holds several historical markers and monuments. This is the third courthouse built in the town square. The first one burned down in 1857 and was replaced the following year. The 1858 courthouse was demolished in 1903 to make room for the current one shown here. This one was completed in 1905 at a cost of $157,000. Notice the clocks on the dome with the correct time. A complete restoraion of the copper clad dome was finished in 2024.
The marker was dedicated on May 26, 2008. Photo(s): 2012
