Lexington Bike PathWest Side of 66, Lexington, ILPhone:
This is a busy spot for Route 66 fans with historic sites on all four corners. The bike/hiking path runs north and south on the west side of Mother Road. On the NW corner is the Historic Neon "Lexington" sign. On the NE corner is the old Fillin Station Restaurant. On the SE corner is the former Lexington Motel and a small park with
a Historic Marker. Also on the SE corner of this intersection is a plaque regarding IL Route 66 in a little park.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
