This old roadhouse started out as the Tourist Haven restaurant in the late 1930s and operated under that name until the mid-1970s. George Cassons, the original owner, reportedly held a contest to choose a name for the business. It changed owners a couple times during those first 35+ years. Since then it has been named the Village Inn, Earnie's Roadhouse and Scotty's at various times before becoming Weeyz's Route 66 Bar & Grill. In 2006, while it was Scotty's, it was inducted into the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame.

Early in its life there were sleeping rooms upstairs for weary travelers. Later those became apartments.

It is located on Highway 157 (Route 66) just south of Highway 140.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
