Edwardsville,
like many other Illinois Route 66 towns has installed on of the new
66 shields in preparation for the Mother Roads Centennial in 2026. 
This was formerly was the site of Idlewood Tourist Camp. There is a
handy parking lot just west side of the Experience Hub.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
