Edwardsville Frozen Foods built this building in 1947 and moved from their revious location in the Bohm Building. They took 300 lockers from the old location to this building and installed several hundred new lockers as well. That was a time when most families didn't have freezers at home so the rented freezer lockers to store meat in. When This became the Goshen Butcher Shop in 2017 a few less than 100 lockers were still being rented.

The original locker keys and giant old-fashioned wooden desk still remain in the office.

In 2017 it was sold to Bob Keyser and Jeff Merkel and became Goshen Butcher Shop

xI don't know when Herbie the Hereford arrived, but he's been there since the 60s at least. Well he has wandered around town a couple of times over the years, thanks to some mischievious young people.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
